The Lady Varnishes Oubliette- Untried May, Black Polish

So, I have quite a few untried black polishes, and I am super out of kilter with untried May, ah well. This is an untried and I know that I have already tried a polish by The Lady Varnishes, but Oubliette, which is a gorgeous black polish with orange and blue flecks was the reason I bought some of the other Labyrinth theme polishes by her. I did had Azature Black Diamond polish out to pop on and instead I reached for The Lady Varnishes Oubliette. Isn't Oubliette an awesome word in itself? I absolutely love Labyrinth and David Bowie has never looked better...it is still one of my favorite movies of all time. The Secretary with James Spader is at the other end of the spectrum of my fave movies..then there is Army of Darkness- Bruce Campbell, need I say more?
Anyways Oubliette is a black crelly polish with electric blue fleck and orange flecks..for this swatch I used 2 coats and Seche Vite top coat.

I really love how the blue glitter glows! This was super pretty on and of course I thought it would make a good base for a galaxy mani..which I will post in my next post :)

Ulta3 BlackBerry Tart with Revlon Grape Fizz and Cirque Coronation- Utried May Purple

So can you tell by the title of my blog post..I have a lot of purple and quite a few untrieds! LOL. I had a hard time deciding what purple to try on so layered a few until I had a purple glowy concoction. I've been playing with my lightbox, so hopefully I have some better pics, but as soon as I see a bit a sun outside, don't worry I'll be snapping some daylight shots.
So for these looks, I started with a layer of Ulta3 Blackberry Tart which is a dark purple jelly. I then topped it with Revlon Grape Fizz. Here is a few pics.

First of all, Revlon Grape Fizz smells amazing and yummy! I really liked the blue and purple micro flecks in this polish and because I couldn't leave well alone I thought I would layer Cirque Coronation.

So loving purple..the layers of BlackTart, Grape Fizz and Coronation all bring something different to the end result. Blue flecks, purple fleck and red/green shift is all so pretty be it in the sun or the shade. There are also some scattered holo particles which you can see in the full sun. I'm having alot of fun finding untried polishes hiding in each draw of my helmer, although I think I could do a few months of untrieds! Next untried is black...:)

Savvy Mint Julep with blue and green stamping - Green/Blue for Untried May

Helloooo, I have been keeping up with The Amy's Untried Challenge but haven't been doing very well with keeping up with my blogging, so here is a bit of a mash up of Green and Blue. For green I used Savvy Mint Julep, which in my opinion is leaning more blue than green. What do you think? Anyways I really liked this color be it blue or green and poppped on top of it Happy Hands For British Eyes Only on my ring finger for an accent then stamped with Hits Hera and Color Club Blue Heaven.

Hmm, the blue and green stamping had a lot more contrast in real life. Hera is a dark green and you can see it best in the bottom pic near the cuticle of the nail. Blue Heaven is a light blue..in these pics the circles all just look holographic! For British Eyes Only has some lovely blue and green glitters in it in a blue jelly base..overall this mani looks more blue than green to me, so a slight fail, but it was still pretty to wear! Now, onto some purple polish.....

L'Oreal Bananarama Love with stamping- Yellow for Untried May

Hi guys! I have a bit of a mani fail for you today but you know, you get that sometimes.. I was going for a tropical flower theme for my yellow untried of L'oreal Bananarama Love. Not this was super sucessful, what do you think? For this look I did 4 coats of Bananarama Love which is a yellow jelly polish. I did an accent nail of Ulta3 Showstopper (black and white glitter-untried) and stamped with China Glaze Liquid Leather (not untried!) and Seche Vite top coat.

So, I think this would have been better with a brighter yellow or with a glitter sandwich..hmm? Anyways, it was a bit of fun and I used 2 untrieds and I quite liked the actual stamp I used. It's almost the end of the week here..thank goodness. Just have to survive tomorrow. I think my green and blue untried polish is going to be a mash up of 2 into one! See you tomorrow :)

Face Of Australia Some Like It Hot and OPI Jinx- Orange for Untried May

Hello...orange..do you love it or hate it? I never gave orange polish much thought in the past apart from "only old people wear orange"..boy was I wrong. Corals and oranges are amongst some of my most fave polishes to wear, neon on toes is a must for summer and suprisingly the brighter the better on my nails is the only way to go. So, I was out and  about and saw Face of Australia had a sale in Big W. So I thought I was ping the barcode on the Screen Siren collection and to my suprise they were a whole $1.75, so of course..they all came home with me. This collection is all inspired by Marilyn Monroe and this one is called Some Like It Hot and is a bright leaning neon orange.

This is 2 coats of FOA Some Like It hot with top coat.

Then to add a bit of bling I thought I would do texture tips with OPI Jinx which is a Coral orange but looks like I dipped my fingers in sugar!

So, this wasn't particularly nail arty, but I sometimes the simple manis are the most effective. I really loved how this one looked. The contrast in the oranges and the textures was so bling and I really didn't want to take it off!

How do you not love these reds together? They are just gorgeous polishes by themselves and the formula for both were excellent, together is a match made in polish heaven. I have a few more Pretty Serious polishes I am keen to pull out for Untried May. I tend to grabby hands all the lovely colors and forget which pretties I have stashed! Loving untried May so far :) What do you think of these 2..do you have them? Illamasqua Glitterati - Glitter for Untried May

Hey guys, today I have for you a nail art look this is using Glitter for May 4th in the Untried May and The Amy's Untried Challenge. Now, I have quite a few glitter polishes that I haven't tried but when I was looking among all the pretty polish I realized I haven't tried either of the 2 Illamasqua's I own and Glitterati is the perfect cold weather color. For the base of this nail art look I used another untried OPI Meet Me on the Star Ferry, 2 coats with a top coat then I used striping tape placed at different thicknesses to create and increasing width stripe down each nail. Glitterati is a gorgeous maroon polish with holo gitter..so I did an accent nail with the full glitter polish in all it's glory.

Holographic glitter goodness!

The flash captures what I would imagine sunlight would, and OPI Meet Me on the Star Ferry has a surprising scattered holographic bling to it.Illamasqua Glitterati is lovely and squishy and the holo glitters are easy to apply with not much fishing required. I wish I had some daylight to take better pics but with 10 hour shifts and winter coming, it gets harder :(

Catrice Call Me Princess- Texture for Untried May

Happy Monday! Today I have for you my first Catrice and one of my newest untried's in my collection courtesy of the lovely Lab Muffin who muled some polish for me from Switzerland! So cool :) She sent me this Catrice Texture polish called Call Me Princess, so when I saw Texture for May 3rd on The Amy's Untried Challenge I had to see what it was like! Now, can I just say, this is sooo glarey and in-your-face pink with gold shimmer texture and I love it because of it! For this swatch I used 2 coats of Call Me Princess and I was lucky enough to catch some sun in between the cold and miserable rain this is our weather in Australia.. can you tell I miss summer??

This is actually a really pretty pink texture and super fun for when you are feeling girly and reminds me of a pink version of OPI Jinx. The formula was really good and this was 2 coats but I think it could have done with a 3rd coat. What do you think about this? It's pretty much a love or hate polish and I do love it, LOL.

L'oreal Jolly Lolly- Jelly for Untried May

Hi guys..this is my 2nd post to try and catch up for Untried May :) I'm going to try and have a post for each day of the month, see how that goes! The 2nd of May is an untried Jelly polish in Amy's Untried Challenge, so this is going to be a quick post as it's already late here. Today have a straight swatch for you of L'oreal Jolly Lolly which is in the set of squishy jelly L'oreal polishes released a little while ago. I was a bit slow on the uptake when it came to jellys/leadlight/sheer polishes but I really love Jolly Lolly..so red and squishy! This is 3 coats with no top coat.

I really loved this color. I am coming to terms with coping with a visible nail line and I don't mind it as much as I used to. The formula and clean up was really good and the vibrant red color is amazing. I bought mine from Ebay as I totally missed the trend here in Australia. Sometimes I am not thrilled with a trend and regret not picking up the colors, like in this case..not so sure it will be the case with the new OPI Neon collection coming..

The Lady Varnishes That's Close Enough- Crelly for Untried May

Hi guys, so..its Untried May time! I am going to do a combo of Untried challenges with Shatter Me Claire and cross posted instagram of The Amy's Untried Challenge to try and guide me with some ideas of using my untrieds in the month of May! So I have a few days to catch up on..May 1st is Crelly. For today I have The Lady Varnishes That's Close Enough which is a blurpley crelly with micro blue and copper glitters and larger copper hex glitters.
