Orly Pink Nude and Mentality Duality Dots

Hey guys! I don't know if you missed me..prolly not so much...anyways. Life has been busy to the point of regular napping on the recliner chair after work.. then it has been the longer you leave something the more anxiety you have about doing it. My blogging has felt a bit like that. Wierd huh? I have been doing my nails so I really need to catch up. I did some awesome Christmas in July and neon nails recently..argh! Here I go about catching up..

Today I have for you something I did for Crumpet's Simples challenge. The challenge was evenly spaced dots. I was having a particularly neutral feeling for this week so decided to use Orly Pink Nude for the base and Mentality Duality for the dots. This is also helping me overcome my hate of visible nail line..I don't mind it so much here! LOL.

Dance Legend Harbor

Hellooooo.. I have another swatch today for you . I don't seem to be having my nail art mojo going on. I'll work on that, shall I? LOL. Today I have another of the Russian brand Dance Legend. They just have awesome polishes, this one is one of the Sahara Sand collection, a liquid sand glitter :) Now I am usually a die hard top coat fanatic, so it was hard to not but I really do like how the polish look dried and it's slight gritty feel. Not overly insanely lumpy which was great. It also wore really well as these pics are after 2 days of work and housework. Winning!

Slightly sparkly, the glitter is more obvious in the bottle!

You can see the slight glitter shimmer here :)

These picture are in the full sun and I think the polish leans a little bit more towards peach in real life. The glitter in the bottle is super obvious, on the nail it gives the polish a slightly shimmery look which brings dimension to the color without being a full on glitter bomb polish! I found myself playing with my nails a fair bit to feel the texture and I was amazed at how strong my nails felt. Like a mixture of cement and polish! LOL. I bought my Dance Legends directly from the russian website, but you can purchase Dance Legend from Ninjapolish and Llarowe :)

Wicked Polish Pox

Happy non-work appropriate polish Wednesday! I tend to have Wednesday off more often than not as I work 10 hour shifts at work, and yesterday I received my Wicked Polish from  Harlow & Co. Since I had on a work appropriate nude polish, I thought I would see how Pox would look over it. Boy was I happily surprised and in swoony love with the results :)

Up close you can see that a second top coat would be needed to make it glass smooth.

Wicked Polish Pox

How cute is this look? I was super excited to receive my first Wicked Polishes and I am in love with Pox. It's super cute, the neons are so fun! This is a great way to wear neons without being completely smacked in the face by brightness. I hate to say it, but I will, this is probably work appropriate! Gah! Just what I was trying to get away from on my day off, LOL. The nude base makes this elegant and pretty and a great contrast for both the pink and orange glitters. I would take the time to do a second coat of top coat to get that super smooth look but I can't say enough how much I am in looooove with this :)

What do you guy think? Do you have any Wicked Polishes?

Picture Polish Nude with Essence Night in Vegas

Tonight I have a NOTD post for you. I have been wearing this mani for the last few days. I wasn't going to post about it as I thought it was just another "work appropriate" look but not particularly of interest. Picture Polish Nude though is super work appropriate and itself quite interesting and lovely color. I decided to jazz up the mani with one of my Essence Special Effect Toppers. As I was going for not-so-flashy I used Essence Special Effect Topper Night in Vegas.

I forgot to take a photo of what the Picture Polish Nude looked liked on the nails. Oops! I applied Ulta3 Base Coat and 2 Coats of Nude though before added a coat of Essence Night in Vegas.

This is the mani after 2 days of hard (work) wear. I spent alot of my time staring at my nails and making the special effect topper flash from green to gold to orange :) It was hours of happy entertainment, LOL. Essence Night in Vegas is clearly a flakie but what I like about it is that the flakies are regular and space evenly out without trying..and look like a flakie pattern.

It reminds me of a damask silk pattern, so pretty.

Hope you thought this post was worth a look :)  I tried to stamp last night, but was so tired I was transferring the stamp wonky from the plate and half missing the rubber stamp BEFORE I even got near my nails. Erk! I feel some nail stamping/art coming on tomorrow though..so please check in and see how I went :)

Kleancolor Jelly Sandwich

So tonight I have a quick change of polish after taking mine off today midway through the day because of performance appraisals. I don't have a problem with my polish but I am sure not every one thinks all my colors are "work appropriate"! So the black Orly Androgenie mani went and tonight I created a quick mani so I wasn't naked.....a Jelly Sandwich!

I wasn't quite sure which way to go with the sandwiching colors, but I thought pinky/nudes were quite safe so the first color I applied was Kleencolor 151 Sheer Pastel Cocoa with 2 coats so there was no nail line.

Next was Kleancolor 192 Afternoon Picnic for the glittery goodness

I then used Picture Polish Nude as the top layer of my sandwich

A top coat of Seche Vite and the result...a sheer nude glittery sandwich!

Not 100% sold on my Sandwich of choice. I always love the thought of nude nailpolish, but I think it makes me look a little dead! Overall I like the Sandwich look :)  I do love the Kleancolor Sheer Pastel Cocoa...will have to do a nail stamp with it as a base in the future. The only issue I had with the Kleancolors (apart from that they are very smelly apparently, but I have a terrible sense of smell!) is that the Kleancolors can be a little thick and not very fast to dry. I didn't rely on just my Seche to make sure didn't kill this manicure, I added a few drop of OPI Drip Dry to make sure it fully drys before I go to bed. It seems to have worked a treat after the recommended 5 mins.

I am currently taking photos of my nailpolish choices with my phone camera..yes, it's not the best it can be but I do have a proper lightbox which I am setting up this weekend so hopefully the quality of my pics will be getting better!
