This was still a happy mani even though it wasn't perfect. I loved the happy yellow color, the happy gold holo and the happy holo gold glitter. It doesn't take too much to make me happy, lol! Stamping always makes me pretty happy. What do you think of Sinful Colors..yay or nay? I really want to love them, but I am not sure I do..
Come to the darkside of the polish world, where there is never enough polish, nail art or glitter!

Sinful Colors Unicorn with Stamping and Glitter
Hey guys! You know how when you think you do a good job of your mani's and then you take some pics and ugh, what a hot mess! Today's post is a little bit messy. It's not terrible but it ain't my best work either. The other day I picked up Sinful Colors Unicorn at Target for $2 and so popped it on. I am not sure Sinful Colors and I work so well as I have some crappy edges, but I think I'll persist and see what happens. Anyways, Unicorn is a sunny pastel yellow that I applied and then stamped a few nails with holo gold using Dance Legend New Messiah and an accent nail of glitter gradient used CrowsToes Maxxed Out.

Loki's Lacquer We Are Happy Little Vegemites
Hi guys! Today I have for you a brown holographic glitter polish that is super unique as it was a part of an Australia Day raffle that I won at least 2 Australia Days ago. This was made by the lovely Tara from Loki's Lacquer and celebrates all that is Australian...Vegemite! Now, Vegemite is something all Aussie kids are raised on, it's a yeast extract dark brown spread that is absolutely yummy on toast with lots of butter or in a cheese toasty (btw, only a thin spread is required or it's far too much!) and in nail polish form it looks like..this!
Loki's Lacquer We Are Happy Little Vegemites- gorgeous brown holo with red and yellow glitters.
Looks like like the jar, but prettier, yes?
So happy I managed to catch the 0.3 seconds of sunlight we had today in cold old winterey Melbourne. Some people love winter, not I..I like warmth, daylight and sunlight (for holo's of course!). Tara, the owner of Loki's Lacquer isn't currently making polish..so I love that I have a few of her special polishes :)

Savvy Mint Julep with blue and green stamping - Green/Blue for Untried May
Helloooo, I have been keeping up with The Amy's Untried Challenge but haven't been doing very well with keeping up with my blogging, so here is a bit of a mash up of Green and Blue. For green I used Savvy Mint Julep, which in my opinion is leaning more blue than green. What do you think? Anyways I really liked this color be it blue or green and poppped on top of it Happy Hands For British Eyes Only on my ring finger for an accent then stamped with Hits Hera and Color Club Blue Heaven.
Hmm, the blue and green stamping had a lot more contrast in real life. Hera is a dark green and you can see it best in the bottom pic near the cuticle of the nail. Blue Heaven is a light blue..in these pics the circles all just look holographic! For British Eyes Only has some lovely blue and green glitters in it in a blue jelly base..overall this mani looks more blue than green to me, so a slight fail, but it was still pretty to wear! Now, onto some purple polish.....

L'Oreal Bananarama Love with stamping- Yellow for Untried May
Hi guys! I have a bit of a mani fail for you today but you know, you get that sometimes.. I was going for a tropical flower theme for my yellow untried of L'oreal Bananarama Love. Not this was super sucessful, what do you think? For this look I did 4 coats of Bananarama Love which is a yellow jelly polish. I did an accent nail of Ulta3 Showstopper (black and white glitter-untried) and stamped with China Glaze Liquid Leather (not untried!) and Seche Vite top coat.
So, I think this would have been better with a brighter yellow or with a glitter sandwich..hmm? Anyways, it was a bit of fun and I used 2 untrieds and I quite liked the actual stamp I used. It's almost the end of the week here..thank goodness. Just have to survive tomorrow. I think my green and blue untried polish is going to be a mash up of 2 into one! See you tomorrow :)

Face Of Australia Some Like It Hot and OPI Jinx- Orange for Untried May
Hello...orange..do you love it or hate it? I never gave orange polish much thought in the past apart from "only old people wear orange"..boy was I wrong. Corals and oranges are amongst some of my most fave polishes to wear, neon on toes is a must for summer and suprisingly the brighter the better on my nails is the only way to go. So, I was out and about and saw Face of Australia had a sale in Big W. So I thought I was ping the barcode on the Screen Siren collection and to my suprise they were a whole $1.75, so of course..they all came home with me. This collection is all inspired by Marilyn Monroe and this one is called Some Like It Hot and is a bright leaning neon orange.
So, this wasn't particularly nail arty, but I sometimes the simple manis are the most effective. I really loved how this one looked. The contrast in the oranges and the textures was so bling and I really didn't want to take it off!
This is 2 coats of FOA Some Like It hot with top coat.
Then to add a bit of bling I thought I would do texture tips with OPI Jinx which is a Coral orange but looks like I dipped my fingers in sugar!

Illamasqua Glitterati - Glitter for Untried May
Hey guys, today I have for you a nail art look this is using Glitter for May 4th in the Untried May and The Amy's Untried Challenge. Now, I have quite a few glitter polishes that I haven't tried but when I was looking among all the pretty polish I realized I haven't tried either of the 2 Illamasqua's I own and Glitterati is the perfect cold weather color. For the base of this nail art look I used another untried OPI Meet Me on the Star Ferry, 2 coats with a top coat then I used striping tape placed at different thicknesses to create and increasing width stripe down each nail. Glitterati is a gorgeous maroon polish with holo gitter..so I did an accent nail with the full glitter polish in all it's glory.
Pics are in a lightbox with flash
Holographic glitter goodness!

The Lady Varnishes That's Close Enough- Crelly for Untried May
Hi guys, so..its Untried May time! I am going to do a combo of Untried challenges with Shatter Me Claire and cross posted instagram of The Amy's Untried Challenge to try and guide me with some ideas of using my untrieds in the month of May! So I have a few days to catch up on..May 1st is Crelly. For today I have The Lady Varnishes That's Close Enough which is a blurpley crelly with micro blue and copper glitters and larger copper hex glitters. For this swatch I used 2 coats with a top coat as the formula dries matte. You can also check out my pics on Instagram with my username @jasmsb and the hashtags of #amysuntriedmay #untriedmay
Of course, this is going to be the first of many..why haven't I tried this before?? It's gorgeous! This is 2 coats and yes, there is a visible nail line but that's what a Crelly is about! Feel free to join in the Untried May challenge and your post to the link in.

Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat
Hi guys! Just wanted to post a quick review of Sally Hansen's Big Matte Top Coat which I bought from Kmart for $9.95 the other day. I seem to have a matte top coat shortage so wanted to see what this was like. Now since I already had on L'Oreal Miss Pixie with Cirque Magic Hour and some stamping, I decided to topcoat it and see how it looked. Now the Sally Hansen bottle says to top coat directly to the polish you have applied, but since I already wore this with Seche Vite for a few days I thought I would see how that goes! LOL.
So here is Miss Pixie and Magic hour after the application of Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat
And here is the original finish of Miss Pixie and Magic Hour with Seche Vite Top Coat
As you can see, the application of Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat certainly mattified the Seche Vite and the look of the polish underneath. The blue of L'Oreal Miss Pixie became more opaque and the glitters in Cirque Magic Hour became more pronounced at a tiny bit less sparkly, but not by much. They also look imbedded in the blue polish rather than floating on the top. I also like how the copper of Essie Penny Talk became more like used, dull copper :) I didn't think I would love the matte look as much as the shiny, and I don't..but I quite like it as a switch up, but not as my first preference. I had no trouble with application or dry time of the Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat and it wore very well for the 2 days I had it on!

Paint It Blue- China Glaze Frostbite with Striping
Hey guys! Happy hump day :) Today I have for you some pics of the next Paint It Blue manicure I wore for the month of April. Yes, it's various blue for the entire month here. Today I have a straight swatch of China Glaze Frostbite and then some nail art I did with it. The only downside of coming into winter here is that there was no sun for the nail art pics :( I am going to have to get my lightbox out soon methinks. I had a little trouble with Frostbite, it's a gorgeous electric blue shimmer, but it was thin as all get out so I had to keep shaking the bottle in between application on each nail..so it was a bit time consuming but very worth it..you think?
Gah, so pretty! The electric blue with blue shimmer is purty. This was 2 coats with top coat :)
Now, I attempted a Waterfall mani with the striping from the cuticle..but I failed completely. So I am just calling this a striping nail art. I used Kleancolor Catch Me, China Glaze Bahamian Escape, Kleancolor Metallic Aqua and Ulta3 New Years Eve. I also did an accent nail with New Years Eve and Essie Shine of the Times.
There was no sun for the stripe mani pics, sorry about that :( It looks pretty good in the pics but was better with the sun out! Not sure what to do about the thin formula..maybe leave the bottle open for a bit to thicken up? I am still going to be painting it blue with the next mani..going to try and hit some untrieds. Hope your week is going well, check you laters!

Autism Awareness Week- Barry M Turquoise, OPI Eurso Eurso and China Glaze Dorothy Who?
Hey Guys! Hows your week or weekend going? This is my first week back from annual leave and being back at work is a steep getting out of bed early curve..and going to bed much earlier, LOL. This means I've also not really been blogging. I have been polishing my nails though! This week I wore blue for Paint It Blue for Austism Awareness. I am going to be painting my nails blue for this month as I have plenty of blues in my stash :) Today I have for you what I wore this week. Barry M Turquoise was the base, I then used striping tape to do a strip of China Glaze Dorothy Who? and the tips with OPO Eurso Eurso. I also stamped my ring finger with Eurso Eurso and colored in a little jigsaw piece with Dorothy Who? Sorry for the tip wear but this is nearly a week down the track so it's done well!
I completely loved how this looked, I am pretty proud of my striping tape placement..I am sure my tongue poking out whilst I am concentrating make all the difference! I was being super careful so I think that helps. The stamping gods were with me on the day, so overall I was really happy with how things turned out!

Kmart Pink Minx Skittles- taping, studs and glitter.
Hi guys! Today I have for you Pink Minx, which I wore a little while ago and I wanted to bling this lovely neon polish with some taping, studs and of course, a glitter accent nail. I do like my glitter accent nails and my ring finger seems to be the finger of choice! lol. Now, Pink Minx is a neon pink that I bought from Kmart for a whole $3 and I do love the formula, coverage and brush. Make sure you are well ventilated as they stink like Kleencolor polishes do! For this skittles mani I used some gorgeous neon studs I bought here, at Drama Queen Nails and placed them on my pointer finger. I did a taped off diagonal tip on my middle finger. I did a gradient of glitter using Crowstoes Heartless on my ring finger and I did a mani tip with some silver striping tape on my little finger :)
I wish I had captured the true beauty of Crowstoes Heartless, it's a gorgeous hot pink holographic glitter and I really didn't manage to get the best pic of it! Next time. I think I did pretty well with my taped tip look but you can see a little bit of tip wear as I wore this at work and worked pretty darned hard that day. I wash my hands and expose them to icky chemicals alot. Most of the girls laugh at my constant handcream/cuticle oil use but if I don't they get so dry. Plus I am still using some of the Essence Apple Cinnamon hand cream that came out last June (for $2 I may have quite a few!) and I love how it smells and how quickly it sinks in at work, and for $2 I don't feel bad for using heaps at work! Hope you are having a great day..I am still on holidays..talk to you soon!
Middle finger diagonal tape mani using China Glaze Something Sweet on the tip.
