Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat

Hi guys! Just wanted to post a quick review of Sally Hansen's Big Matte Top Coat which I bought from Kmart for $9.95 the other day. I seem to have a matte top coat shortage so wanted to see what this was like. Now since I already had on L'Oreal Miss Pixie with Cirque Magic Hour and some stamping, I decided to topcoat it and see how it looked. Now the Sally Hansen bottle says to top coat directly to the polish you have applied, but since I already wore this with Seche Vite for a few days I thought I would see how that goes! LOL.
So here is Miss Pixie and Magic hour after the application of Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat

And here is the original finish of Miss Pixie and Magic Hour with Seche Vite Top Coat

As you can see, the application of Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat certainly mattified the Seche Vite and the look of the polish underneath. The blue of L'Oreal Miss Pixie became more opaque and the glitters in Cirque Magic Hour became more pronounced at a tiny bit less sparkly, but not by much. They also look imbedded in the blue polish rather than floating on the top. I also like how the copper of Essie Penny Talk became more like used, dull copper :) I didn't think I would love the matte look as much as the shiny, and I don't..but I quite like it as a switch up, but not as my first preference. I had no trouble with application or dry time of the Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat and it wore very well for the 2 days I had it on!

L'oreal Miss Pixie with Cirque Magic Hour

Hey guys! Here is another blue mani for you for Paint It Blue month for Autism Awareness. I love blue so a month of it is no great hardship! Today I have for you a Jelly and a glitter..with a little stamping thrown in for good measure. I'm having a few personal stress issue at the moment, some mine, some my family, some my friends which means I haven't had time to sit down and just paint my nails, or plan to paint my nails. I still have polish happening but mostly just fitting it in around hospital visits, work, cooking paleo food and some sleep. On the upside I feel more active? Wierd huh. So this is my nails that I am sporting at the moment. L'oreal Miss Pixie which is a brilliant blue jelly- 3 coats for this look. A top coat of Circque Magic Hour and some puzzle stamping with Essie Penny Talk.

So, L'oreal Miss Pixie..love! Visible nail line, yeah, but so? Hehe. This was 3 coats and I probably could have done a 4th to make sure there was no VNL, but that was so not the point of having a jelly polish. Some fading at the tips with the polish but that is probably my application. Cirque Magic Hour has beautiful blue and copper flakie glitter in a clear base. I did have to add thinner to make the clear base less gluggy, but the glitters were easy to apply despite that. I matched up Essie Penny talk for my stamping and puzzle pieces were the choice of course! Hope you are ready for the week ahead..I wish there was more weekend than working week, LOL.

Paint It Blue- China Glaze Frostbite with Striping

Hey guys! Happy hump day :) Today I have for you some pics of the next Paint It Blue manicure I wore for the month of April. Yes, it's various blue for the entire month here. Today I have a straight swatch of China Glaze Frostbite and then some nail art I did with it. The only downside of coming into winter here is that there was no sun for the nail art pics :( I am going to have to get my lightbox out soon methinks. I had a little trouble with Frostbite, it's a gorgeous electric blue shimmer, but it was thin as all get out so I had to keep shaking the bottle in between application on each nail..so it was a bit time consuming but very worth it..you think?

Gah, so pretty! The electric blue with blue shimmer is purty. This was 2 coats with top coat :)

Now, I attempted a Waterfall mani with the striping from the cuticle..but I failed completely. So I am just calling this a striping nail art. I used Kleancolor Catch Me, China Glaze Bahamian Escape, Kleancolor Metallic Aqua and Ulta3 New Years Eve. I also did an accent nail with New Years Eve and Essie Shine of the Times.

There was no sun for the stripe mani pics, sorry about that :( It looks pretty good in the pics but was better with the sun out! Not sure what to do about the thin formula..maybe leave the bottle open for a bit to thicken up? I am still going to be painting it blue with the next mani..going to try and hit some untrieds. Hope your week is going well, check you laters!

Autism Awareness Week- Barry M Turquoise, OPI Eurso Eurso and China Glaze Dorothy Who?

Hey Guys! Hows your week or weekend going? This is my first week back from annual leave and being back at work is a steep getting out of bed early curve..and going to bed much earlier, LOL. This means I've also not really been blogging. I have been polishing my nails though! This week I wore blue for Paint It Blue for Austism Awareness. I am going to be painting my nails blue for this month as I have plenty of blues in my stash :) Today I have for you what I wore this week. Barry M Turquoise was the base, I then used striping tape to do a strip of China Glaze Dorothy Who? and the tips with OPO Eurso Eurso. I also stamped my ring finger with Eurso Eurso and colored in a little jigsaw piece with Dorothy Who? Sorry for the tip wear but this is nearly a week down the track so it's done well!

I completely loved how this looked, I am pretty proud of my striping tape placement..I am sure my tongue poking out whilst I am concentrating make all the difference! I was being super careful so I think that helps. The stamping gods were with me on the day,  so overall  I was really happy with how things turned out!
