AN Monday China Glaze Ruby Pumps Leopard Nails!

Hi guys, today I have for you ANMonday which today (erm, Wednesday is close to Monday, yeah?) is Leopard Print. I actually wore this on the weekend to the work Christmas party.. it being Christmas in July of course! This dictated what color the Leopard spots were, which being Christmassy I chose red :) I really loved how this look, but unfortunately when I took the picture..there was no sun, so the sparkle of China Glaze Ruby Pumps didn't come out to play, ah well. Onto the pics!

piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013

Today I have for you Blog Fest 2013 hosted by piCture pOlish! Last year there was a reveal of wonderful collaboration shades of polish for the Blog Fest. This years Blog Fest theme is Year of the Blogger. This celebrates all the wonderful nail polish bloggers out there, what we do and a chance to show off our nail art. How awesome is that? The challenge for today is create the "most amazing nail art ever' with three polish provided by piCture pOlish

Blog Fest 2013 Picture Polish Aphrodisiac, Splash and Hot Lips Nail Art Manicure

piCture pOlish sent me Aphrodisiac, which is a very dark purple, Splash a lovely blue multi shape glitter and Hot Lips a neon pink. Such different polishes, but all gorgeous in their own right. To make sure each polish would pop with the manicure I did a base of white and applied different nail art over the top. So how did I create the look below?

Blog Fest 2013 Picture Polish Aphrodisiac, Splash and Hot Lips Nail Art Manicure

Thumb Nail Art- 2 coats of piCture pOlish hot lips with piCture pOlish Splash applied at the base of the nail and dragged upwards to the tip. A simple but very effective glitter gradient.

Picture Polish Hot Lips and Aphrodisiac dotting manicure
First Finger- White base with dot nail art using piCture pOlish Hot Lips and Aphrodisiac

I used grease proof paper and placed some polish on it. Using a dotting tool I placed dots on my nail in a J-shape on the white base, alternating the colors and sizes.

Picture Polish Splash stripe manicure
Middle Finger- White base with piCture pOlish Splash polish stripes

I painted 2 coats of piCture pOlish Splash on grease proof paper and when the polish was dried I cut it up into strips and placed it over a white base on my nail. Finished with a topcoat :)

Picture Polish Aphrodisiac and Hot Lips Drag Marble
Ring Finger- Drag marble nail art.

This is kinda hard to show on the nail, but imagine it's my nail above. I painted white polish onto my nail, then dropped drops of piCture pOlish Hot Lips and Aphrodisiac placed on the white and whilst all polish was wet, dragging a design with a fine dotting tool as above.

Picture Polish Aphrodisiac Stamping with Picture PolishSplash accent glitter
Little Finger- Stamping with piCture pOlish Aphrodisiac and accents of Splash dotted on.

I used Pueen stamping plate 38, the design very left in the above picture, and using piCture pOlish Aphrodisiac in the design I transferred this onto my nail. Then when the design dried I used my dotting tool to add accents of piCture pOlish Splash

The end result of a few nail art techniques and some awesome polish!

OPI Honey Ryder Gold and Red Manicure

Hi guys, just a quick post of a mani I did the other day but I wasn't completely happy with my cuticles..but I loved the look I created so please ignore the crappy winter cuticles and focus on the lovely polish :) I wanted to create a bling but more than just texture that you get with the OPI Liquid Sand, so I used a combination of OPI Honey Ryder and Essie As Good as Gold with some stamping with my new Bundle Monster Holiday Plates to complete the look.

I really really loved how this looked in real life. I do hope it translates to you. OPI Honey Ryder was easy to apply and is such an interesting polish that you can't help looking and touching the finish. Essie As Good As Good was also easy to apply and relatively new-to-me Bundle Monster Holiday stamped easily and had quite a range of images in Chinese New Year Catagory :)
I have my work Xmas in July Christmas party tomorrow and I am looking forwards to having some fun and a few beverages. I'll post the look I went for on Sunday though so never fear. What did you think of the gold polish, yay or nay?

Sinful Colors Scene Stealer- Pink Ombre

Hi guys, how's your week going? Mine is full of ups and downs..I think it will eventually break even by the weekend. Our work Christmas in July is this weekend so that's something to look forward to. Frocking up, socializing and good food and a beverage or two is always a good thing. I have no idea what I am going to wear ...on me or my nails..I am sure I'll think of something! Today I have for you one of the newer release Sinful Colors glitters recently released called Scene Stealer. This is a pink and gold glitter polish with holographic pink diamonds in it. I decided to incorporate this a pink ombre look that I felt like doing!

I really like Sinful Colors Scene Stealer..its a cute glitter and was easy to apply. I needed to fish a little to get the diamonds out, or would recommend shaking it up well :) I really wanted to capture this in the sun, but alas..no sun in Melbourne for the last 2 days, so lightbox photos only.I am mentally gearing up to nubbify my nails before I head overseas in September..I think it will make upkeep and travelling easier..I am also considering taking bubble wrap with me for my "souvenir" polish purchases, is that wierd?? LOL

Lilypad Lacquer Periwinkle Twinkle

Hey guys! This was a gorgeous color I wore the other day..I have been trying to decide on which colors to get from Lilypad Lacquer, there are so many lovely holo and pigmented polishes..I wish I had gotten a few more. That's okay, I'll put them on the wish list and eventually get them. Lilypad Lacquer is an aussie indie brand who if you haven't seen these amazing polishes.. go here and check them out. Seriously, True Blood suckered me in and then I stayed for the rest! LOL.

A day later I did a dotticure on Periwinkle Twinkle and it looked super cute. I used CG Four leaf Clover, CG Bahamian Escape and Ulta3 Infamous. Sorry Iphone pics below!

As you can see, Lilypad Lacquer is a strong linear blue leaning towards purple holo. I used SV topcoat which can dull some holos but it didn't affect the finish at all. The formula is awesome and the pigmentation is lovely :) You truely do need some of these in your life! I bought mine from Lilypad Lacquer Etsy and there is international shipping for those who want in on some of the Aussie awesomeness! I have a few more in my cart for next payday.. nuff said really :)

Aussie Nails Monday..erm, Saturday- Purple

Hello everyone! Okay, so this post is super dooper late. I will preface with..I did do this on Monday but didn't like the photos. But today as I look at them again after really busy week and a good sleep, they don't suck that much! So Aussie Nails Monday this week was Purple. So I picked 3 purples I liked and squished them together and stamped :) Some mani's work just like that, tee hee.
For this I used a base of China Glaze Light as Air, and then sponged CG Light As Air, CG Grape Pop and Pretty Serious Purple Monkey Dishwsher. Stamping with Bundle Monster Holiday Plates with CG Millennium.

A bit bottom heavy with the darker purples, but I still love it!

I really loved this in person, but unfortunately it didn't fully translate in the pics quite as well. I should have chosen a less dark purple the middle color as it looks a bit bottom heavy. But meh! It's still purple and purple is awesome:) I have to try and get a better picture of Pretty Serious Purple Monkey Dishwasher as this polish is Ah-may-zing! Go get yerself it..right now..you will love it! Sorry this post wasn't earlier..and like, on a Monday..but it's before the next challenge which is Magical.

Love Thy Polish Wildheart with Stamping

Good evening, it's a bit late on this side of the world and I'm typing this post as the rain pours down, with my cat sitting with me and watching the cricket. Tonight is a quick post, a follow on from the other day when I swatched Love Thy Polish's Wildheart. This was such a pretty polish that I couldn't resist adding some stamping with my new Bundle Monster Holiday Plates to see what cute designs they had! Also just to see that even though they are called Holiday Plates you can use them everyday :)

I stamped my thumb with the "Valentines/Love" plate..so cute!

The love birds are from the "Love" plate, the hanging bows from the "Baby Shower" designed plate and the little finger "Irish/St Patricks" plate

The shimmer and glitter of Love Thy Polish Wildheart really makes this a standout polish and a great background for stamping. This was so glittery and blingy that I didn't want to take it off. But alas my work sucks dogs balls about wearing polish. I do truly consider quitting daily because I feel so stifled and depressed. Nude is a great color, just not for the majority of my life! Argggggggggggh! Anyways..hope you're having a great weekend guys. I'm off to paint my nails a color that is not nude, LOL.

Love Thy Polish Swatch & Review - Wildheart

Tonight I have for you Love Thy Polish Wildheart sent to me for review from Femme Fatale Cosmetics. Love Thy Polish is the brainchild of the lovely Aussie Emma who lives in the outback of Australia. Seems all sorts of wonderful polish ideas brew out there! Wildheart is a deep purple with a hidden depths that is a multitude of flakies and iridescent glitters that sparkle and shine in both the shade and sunlight. So onto the photos and review.

Full of iridescent and micro glitters :)

This polish was super easy to apply and had great drying time. The glitters in the polish were all very small and make for easy cleanup and removal unlike traditional glitter bomb polishes but it does have that glitter and sparkle with depth. I personally really like flakies mixed in a polish as flakies are awesome of course. You can get Wildheart and other Love Thy Polish's at Femme Fatale Cosmetics Love Thy Polish Wildheart webpage and they are $10 per polish. Love Thy Polish also have some holographic, shimmer and glitter polishes that are lovely, so something for everyone!
Go check out Femme Fatale Cosmetics and Love Thy Polish and see what tickles your fancy :)
*Polish in this post was provided for review but does in no way affect my review or opinion on said product.

China Glaze Four Leaf Clover with nail art

So, its the end of the weekend..and it's cold and miserable in wintery old Melbourne. I'm grumpy..an it's ongoing. I think it may have to do with the very low carb Paleo diet. Apparently it only lasts a few weeks?! Anyways, I think I am tolerable, but just more irritable than I am usually and since I am aware of it I will try and take some more deep breaths. Is it worth it you ask? Well, yer. I know its hard to avoid all the bad things in our diet but trying to minimize exposure isn't terrible in my opinion :)

Tonight I have for you greener than green China Glaze Four Leaf Clover from the Up & Away collection. I really love all the polishes in the collection and Four Leaf Clover isn't just for St. Patrick's Day. I've stamped it and glittered it..and love how it looks!

Holographic stamping!
Of course this was a complete pain in the rear to photograph but completely worth it! The green is a bit more vivid in real life.. and The Dancing Green by KBShimmer goes so well. Nubar Reclaim is a great holographic polish and it stamps really well too I am happy to find out :)

Still working on the Rafflecopter giveaway..hopefully by Wednesday I'll have it up and running.
