The Great Aussie Polish Challenge, Day 7- Northern Lights

It's Day 7, and the final day, of The Great Aussie Polish Challege. A week of Australian polish worn the Australian way! Today I have a polish I just knew I *had* to have when I saw it on another blog and it involved a number of phone calls and a 188km round trip. Nail It! Northern Lights is an Aussie polish sold by an Aussie clothing/accessories chain called Sportsgirl which has stores dotted throughout the wide country of Australia. I tracked down the last of the bottles in the lovely coastal rural town of Sorrento, but to obtain the pretty polish I had to make a day trip with a girlfriend as they wouldn't do interstore transfers, erk! A day trip, lunch, shopping and polish purchasing was had and I came away victorious with my bottle of Northern Lights :)

The photo's really don't capture the loveliness of this polish. It looks amazing on and is so eye-catching that you stop and stare at your nails alot! I did 2 Coats and the drying time was good, but a nice pair of undies will make sure you don't have to do any more than 2 coats. I would have never have thought to look at Sportsgirl for nail polish but now I know to check them out to see what gems they have. The Great Aussie Polish Challenge has been alot of fun and I would love to do it again feature great Indie Aussie Polishes as there are more coming onto the scene which deserve some showcasing :)

I will leave you with a final shot of someone who loves to check out my polish so much that he jumped into my lightbox to see the Northern Lights! LOL. This is Tiller the polish curious kitteh :)

The Great Aussie Polish Challenge, Day 6- Mode

The Great Aussie Polish Challenge

Day 6 of The Great Aussie Polish Challenge here :) Coming towards the end of a week of Aussie Polish and we have an often underestimated drug store polish with Mode. Mode can be found in Chemists all over this wide country of Australia and run in the $2 price bracket. Mode polishes aren't always loved or known my many but they do have some lovely colors in the range. Today I have Mode Chillax for you.

Apart from the fact that I felt like Polaroid borders and really, really large pic today, Chillax is a lovely blue that has a light blue shimmer. It doesn't have the depth that some of the other polishes you can buy but this would be a great "underwear" polish for glitters or stamping. It has a pretty good formula and easy to apply so if you find the right colors in the Mode brand they are worth snapping up.

I do have one more Aussie polish for tomorrow but am wearing my new China Glaze I'm not a Lion with zebra stamping in Elephant Walk and I don't want to take it off to swatch! I guess I'll see how I go when Sunday comes around, LOL.

The Great Aussie Polish Challege!

The Great Aussie Polish Challenge

A Group of us Aussie girls have decided to celebrate all that is Aussie in the polish world for the Olympics.Today I have Day 1 of a week of Australian polish. Polish that is made in Australia, made by Australians and worn by.... people all over the world,LOL. Today I have for you Picture Polish.

Coincidentally, Picture Polish have released all new polishes by bloggers, and some lovely mesh colors, yay! I think I will be purchasing some lovely new pretties from them soon (Mirage is calling my name). Today though, I have the entirety of my Picture Polish Collection in one post. Don't get excited..it's a whole 2 polishes :) Wisteria  for "all those quirky housewives out there". I love it because it's purple and purple rocks. The other is Nude "dare to bare flash some flesh" which I must admit was free with some Ozotics but it's a very universal polish. I really love the little sayings on the bottle..they give each one such character.

To add a bit of detail, I decided to do french tips to Wisteria in Picture Polish Nude!

Wisteria is a lovely color, I don't have anything else like it in my collection. The formula for the polish is pretty good, I found the nude to be a bit 'sticky' though. The brushes are on the thinner side which is good for getting in the edges but feel a bit strange after being used to wider brushes. Picture Polishes can be bought here and you can have a look around the blog world for swatches of the new colors.
