TopShop Hypnotic

Topshop has some lovely polishes, I've decided. After seeing how holo and purty Ice Crush was,I thought I would pull out Topshop Nails Hypnotic. Hypnotic looks like a silver oil slick in the bottle..with a pink tinge to it.Topshop's blurb states that this color is multitonal and after seeing the bottle, I wanted to see if the multitonal colors came alive when wearing it :)

This is what Hypnotic looks like with a flash! Very silver.

Sorry about the pics galore, but the duochrome is so hard to photograph, like most duochromes :) This one is subtle but something different from having just a straight silver polish. I really loved this color, the little bits of glitter in it don't make it gritty as a finish and you can see the formula is a bit tricky and can streak a bit but a topcoat would smooth it out. Topshop states that this color is multitonal, and I'd buy that blurb with the dark silver, light silver and pink tinges.

Hope your weekend is going great. I'm struggling a little with life issues, including my workplace in which some people are small minded. Makes me want to quit and paint nails for a living! I also saw Snow White and the Huntsman today, which I quite liked :) It was a pretty engaging movie and quite dark as it was based on the Grimm Brothers version of the fairytale. There was only one part I was a little disappointed in, but I won't say so you can make up your own minds.

China Glaze Frostbite

It's Friday, yay? My week has been rather average (not feeling so good) but I'm hoping to perk up tomorrow (perk! Who says perk anymore? LOL. Well, I do as you can see). I thought I would round off my PITA (Pain in the..bottom) week with yet another PITA to photograph couple of polishes that are known as China Glaze Frostbite and Topshop Nails Ice Crush. They sound like a match made in polish heaven and indeed they are :)

This is Frostbite without flash, looks like a creme but it's not, and it's darker.

This is the truest color pic I could manage

Frostbite with Flash, this has a gorgeous blue shimmer :)

China Glaze Frostbite is a lovely blue polish that falls in the "hard to photograph but so awesome on" polishes. It's definitely in the electric blue category with a light blue shimmer in the light. I applied a base coat and only 1 coat of Frostbite and no top coat.

I thought I would bling the mani up a bit with a glitter top coat, and had an untried bottle of TopShop Nails in Ice Crush. It's a holo silver glitter of small and large glitters and oh-so-blingy in the light :) But, of course, the blingy goodness is hard to photograph!

Phew, so many pics! Anyways, hope you enjoyed the end of the 'difficult to photograph" week. Next week I am definitely targeting easy to photogrpah polishes! I am sick of having to say "trust me, it's awesome" LOL.

Hope you have a great weekend planned. I am going to post my lilac jelly sandwich that I have in the "My Current Nails" section of my blog, I love, love, love it. :)

China Glaze Spontaneous and Purple Holographic Glitter Manicure!

When I think of the word Spontaneous, I usually don't think of the color purple! But this is what indeed the color of China Glaze Spontaneous is. It's an interesting dusky creme purple that looks great when applied, goes on easily and not too gothic for day time wear.

I really like this color despite not being wowed by how it looked in the bottle and I am sure it will stamp quite well when I give it a whirl. I am a sucker for purple and this one will definitely have a great place amongst my collection.

And finallly, here is a quick mani that I did today to cheer me up as I am not feeling great. I used China Glaze Light as Air, accent nail with Ozotic 534  and added a sparkle/holo gradient with TopShop Ice Crush and Seche Vite top coat.

You have to love a rainbow and holographic purple :)

Hope everyone else is having a great day, I feel cheerier everytime I look at my nails..not sure if that's weird or not, but it works for me!
