piCture pOlish Hot Lips

Hey guys, long time no post. I haven't died, although I felt like it about a week and half ago. I was sooooooo sick with the cough/cold bugs going around that I had to resort to antibiotics (which I hate!) I was even too sick to do my nails *shock horror*. Although whilst I was sick I was suckered into Ghost Adventures/Ghost Hunters. Now, both these shows are about paranormal investigations and have very different styles. I initially thought Hunters was a bit better, but..they don't stay the whole night and they don't interact with the spirits. So of course, they catch not much! Ghost Adventures interact alot and as the series go along they learn alot (and become less douche like- Zac I am looking at you..) and the places they investigate are so interesting. So I guess I am a bit of a GAC convert. I've seen a ghost/spirit before and at the time was pretty scary due to the presence you feel. I can't imagine doing that all the time!

Anyways, nail polish. I have been wearing it. I have been taking some pics. I haven't been posting..erm sorry. I just haven't been feeling super creative and it's winter and my pics suck in winter. Anyway, I am committing to at least 3 posts a week..Mon, Wed and Fridays..so hold me to it m'kay?  

Here for you today is my NOTD and base for some nail art laters on in the week :) piCture pOlish hot lips. Now I probably should have worn this over white to make this more neon..but yeah, time and I it's one of my pet peves. Polish should be awesome on it's own without extra's! LOL.

Such a pretty color, no? It makes winter seem less..cold..I guess. HATE Winteeeeeeeeer!
I would love to live in a temperate place all year round. Anyways, as scattered as my thoughts are a the moment, I am going to attempt some nail art. Catch you tomorrows!

piCture pOlish Midnight Meteor

Hi guys! Today I have for you a piCture pOlish I won on instagram giveaway, one of the relatively new "bijou holo" polishes called Midnight Meteor. Midnight Meteor is a gorgeous dark blue polish that I loooove. This is a dark blue that isn't so dark that you have to squint to make sure its blue, not black. It's a dark royal blue really with lovely scattered holo..it would be a great base for a galaxy mani! I used 2 coats of Midnight meteor for this mani and the coats were super easy to apply. This swatch has top coat :)

 Hope you love this polish as much as I do! I like polish that is just a little bit different and I can't wait to try a galaxy look with this as a base. Hope you are having a great day!

piCture pOlish Midnight Meteor

Hey guys, here is another piCture pOlish swatch of one of the new blogger collab shades. Today I have for you Midnight Meteor. Midnight Meteor is a dark blue color with scattered or "bijou" holo throughout with sparkly holographic particles.I particularly like the tag like summer nights, shooting stars..this definitely reminds me of shooting stars at night :) The application for the particular polish was awesome, and the swatch is 2 coats with Seche Vite top coat.

I really loved this particular polish, the application was great and the dark blue with the scattered holo is lovely :) You can purchase your Midnight Meteor from the piCture pOlish website. A quickie for you today as the end of the weekend is almost upon me and I have to face the reality of the working week tomorrow..boo :(

piCture pOlish Pirouette

Hey guys! Hope you are having a great day..its Sunday here and I've just had a mid afternoon nap, and now the suns out so I have a few pics of some of one of the new piCture pOlish 'bijou' holo polishes which are super sparkly and oh so pretty. Today I have Pirouette which is a collaboration polish with Tenshi no Hana. It's a gorgeous pink with holo particles. Here is 2 coats of polish with Seche top coat :)

piCture pOlish Tail Feather

Hey guys, I have for you tonight one of the 6 new piCture pOlish polishes that I was lucky enough to win on Instagram the other day! This was 2 coats of Tail Feather, I probably should have done a 3rd coat as I can see a visible nail line. There was definitely glass flecks and the sheen can be best seen on my pinkie in the last picture. piCture pOlish are referring to the scattered holo throughout this polish as a "bijou holo"  This is a lovely pastel lime green polish and the glass flecks are interesting but not super holo in my opinion. This doesn't detract from the loveliness of the polish but I think of it more as a glass flecked holo :)

piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013

Today I have for you Blog Fest 2013 hosted by piCture pOlish! Last year there was a reveal of wonderful collaboration shades of polish for the Blog Fest. This years Blog Fest theme is Year of the Blogger. This celebrates all the wonderful nail polish bloggers out there, what we do and a chance to show off our nail art. How awesome is that? The challenge for today is create the "most amazing nail art ever' with three polish provided by piCture pOlish. 

piCture pOlish manicure using piCture pOlish Aphrodisiac, Hot Lips and Splash

piCture pOlish sent me Aphrodisiac, which is a very dark purple, Splash a lovely blue multi shape glitter and Hot Lips a neon pink. Such different polishes, but all gorgeous in their own right. To make sure each polish would pop with the manicure I did a base of white and applied different nail art over the top. So how did I create the look below?

Thumb Nail Art- 2 coats of piCture pOlish hot lips with piCture pOlish Splash applied at the base of the nail and dragged upwards to the tip. A simple but very effective glitter gradient.

First Finger- White base with dot nail art using piCture pOlish Hot Lips and Aphrodisiac

I used grease proof paper and placed some polish on it. Using a dotting tool I placed dots on my nail in a J-shape on the white base, alternating the colors and sizes.

Middle Finger- White base with piCture pOlish Splash polish stripes

I painted 2 coats of piCture pOlish Splash on grease proof paper and when the polish was dried I cut it up into strips and placed it over a white base on my nail. Finished with a topcoat :)

Ring Finger- Drag marble nail art.

This is kinda hard to show on the nail, but imagine it's my nail above. I painted white polish onto my nail, then dropped drops of piCture pOlish Hot Lips and Aphrodisiac placed on the white and whilst all polish was wet, dragging a design with a fine dotting tool as above.

 Little Finger- Stamping with piCture pOlish Aphrodisiac and accents of Splash dotted on.

I used Pueen stamping plate 38, the design very left in the above picture, and using piCture pOlish Aphrodisiac in the design I transferred this onto my nail. Then when the design dried I used my dotting tool to add accents of piCture pOlish Splash

The end result of a few nail art techniques and some awesome polish!

piCture pOlish O'Hara Stamped- AN Monday

Hi everyone! I am a little bit late for this post..but I did do this look on Monday for Aussie Nails Monday. This weeks AN Monday the theme was "Hearts" and since I had just received my piCture pOlish order I was pretty keen to try out one of my new pretties.  Calling out to me was the awesome o'hara, o'hara is the hottest gorgeous red polish with sparkles of holographic goodness that I just love!

I then stamped with China Glaze Pink-ie Promise, Something Sweet and Color Club Miss Bliss in a graduation of pinks over the nail :)

This was a simple but elegant way to wear hearts without being too girly :) piCture pOlish  o'hara had a great formula and was just so gorgeous! I had been waiting for all the various shades of piCture pOlish that I wanted came into stock and ordered their fabulous everyday deal which meant 2 free polishes. Picture Polish Nude with Essence Night in Vegas

Tonight I have a NOTD post for you. I have been wearing this mani for the last few days. I wasn't going to post about it as I thought it was just another "work appropriate" look but not particularly of interest. Picture Polish Nude though is super work appropriate and itself quite interesting and lovely color. I decided to jazz up the mani with one of my Essence Special Effect Toppers. As I was going for not-so-flashy I used Essence Special Effect Topper Night in Vegas.

I forgot to take a photo of what the Picture Polish Nude looked liked on the nails. Oops! I applied Ulta3 Base Coat and 2 Coats of Nude though before added a coat of Essence Night in Vegas.

This is the mani after 2 days of hard (work) wear. I spent alot of my time staring at my nails and making the special effect topper flash from green to gold to orange :) It was hours of happy entertainment, LOL. Essence Night in Vegas is clearly a flakie but what I like about it is that the flakies are regular and space evenly out without trying..and look like a flakie pattern.

It reminds me of a damask silk pattern, so pretty.

Hope you thought this post was worth a look :)  I tried to stamp last night, but was so tired I was transferring the stamp wonky from the plate and half missing the rubber stamp BEFORE I even got near my nails. Erk! I feel some nail stamping/art coming on tomorrow though..so please check in and see how I went :)

Picture Polish Wisteria and OPI Rainbow Connection Jelly Sandwich

On Wednesday of last week I decided to experiment with the concept of the Jelly Sandwich again. As some of you may recall (or if not you can find it on this blog) my last attempt of a Jelly sandwich wasn't so hot. The effect was too nude/dead fingers and it ended up sliding off my nails the next day, urgh! So this time I played around with a few colors on a swatch until I was happy with how it was going to look and this is what I came up with :)

Ulta3 Base coat and 2 coats of Picture Polish Wisteria

Picture Polish Wisteria is such a lovely color on its own.

Then I added a glitter layer of OPI's Rainbow Connection

The completed Jelly Sandwich pics were taken after 4 days wear, so please excuse the tip wear. Even then the wear was awesome and minimal! I loved, loved, loved this mani so much that I still have it on and it's only coming off as I need to have more "work appropriate" nail attire. Whatever. I will definitely have another go at a different type of jelly sandwich, as technically I didn't use a jelly polish but the layering technique was there and I love the endless combination you can try :)
