Erhmagawd!

Where have I been? I was in the midst of the Halloween challenge a few weeks ago..then things got hard. Hard at work, hard at home and just hard in general. So quick catch up and then onto things that are polish. Things are still hard at work..I am the kind of person that will be very loyal, and I've just had that thrown back in my face with disrespect and rudeness. It's pretty crushing to the spirit..so as a result..well, just lets say I'll be keeping to my own and keeping my eyes out for opportunities. Home, well..lets not go there and in general..I just broke a frikkin nail SO bad it's bleeding. Crap on a cracker. I've just had to do a teabag/glue repair to stop half my nail falling off in a painful bloody mess..and filing it down as we speak to give the horrid break time to grow out. I broke it on my car steering wheel for freaks sake! Grrr.

Sucks to be me a the moment!

Polish wise.. I have some pretties coming in the mail..here is a photo exhibit of things to cheer me up and to look forward to :)

Another exciting thing is the introduction of Essence Breaking Dawn Part 2 collection..am I looking forward to the movie? Hmm..I will probably go see it as I have seen the rest but am not super hyped. The Essence collection on the other hand is exciting!

I picked up the 2 lip glosses, the polishes and the blush/shimmer power today. Not going anywhere near the loose eyeshadow, the gold shimmer lipstick was okay but it's a top coat  and when I tried the glitter eyeliners the glitter was a bit sparse and not very pigmented for my liking! I am not a beauty blogger, so will be showing you the polish only.

There are 4 polishes and I picked up all 4 today..or so I thought..I actually have 2 of the dark blue polish and none of the purple one that I wanted. GRRRRR. So I will call up tomorrow and see if the store will hold the purple polish for me to exchange after work tomorrow. See, I told you..sucks to be me today. So off I go to file down all my nails..and have a piece of coconut/almond slice with cream and a coffee. I am sure that will take the edge off my mood..LOL.

This is Halloween Nail Art Challenge- Zombies!

Zombies, Zombies, Zombies..I love Zombies...The Walking Dead, 28 Weeks Later (hmm, Jeremy Renner!) and Resident Evil (Milla Jovovich kicks butt!).. my only issue with Zombies is that they don't have glam nails. Since my post is a day late, I had a look at all the other awesome Zombie nails. Can I just say, I LOVE the zombiefied gross nail looks..but wanted to interpret my mani into something I could wear for a few days without people looking at me strangely. So..this is what I ended up with :)

Zombie Nails
Not very scary Zombie nails!
China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard and All that Glitters Horror Business
I used China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard as a base and was hanging to use All That Glitters Horror Business!

This is a pretty simple mani but I do love it. The colors are just me and I love the Zombie girl. I stamped with with a Fauxnad plate and it took me 8 goes to get the image just right! Not sure Fauxnad plates are worth the hassle really. Really going to try and get my next challenge in on time..and please do check out everyone elses awesome art!

This is Halloween Jack-O-Lanterns

I'm a day late for this challenge..oops..but here it is. For this weeks challenge we had Jack-O-Lanterns...otherwise known as carved pumpkin. I was a little bit stumped at trying not to do the traditional pumpkin type nails and in the end I decided my pumpkins were going to be on a white background, not black..and being surrounded by pumpkin colored rain. For this look I used Essie Miss Matched as a base, stamped with Kleancolor Metallic Orange and Daring Digits Copperline glitter rain :)

Cute pumpkins! Hmm..they should be scary shouldn't they?

I actually really love this look! The Kleancolor Metallic Orange is such an awesome color and stamps really well. Daring Digits Copperline matches perfectly and is gorgeously reflectively orange! It felt like there was a Pumpkin Party on my fingers :) Not so scary but so cute.

This is Halloween Nail Art Challenge- Ghosts!

For todays This is Halloween Nair Art Challenge I have for you Ghosts! Now Ghosts..it's one of those challengers that are easier said than done to do nail art things when you think about it. I was going to do a haunted house with a ghost trailing across 3 fingers..but it just didn't looks right. So instead for you I have a Ghost family out for a walk, at twilight :)

Did I mention that I am completely non artistic?? You are lucky these are not stick figure ghosts, LOL. Anyways..for the base I used 2 coats of Essie Mademoiselle topped with Lynderella Bride of Franken. I clearly freehanded the ghosts with Kleancolor White, and stamped the Haunted house with BM plate 305. I then sprinkled some of China Glazes CG in the City around the edges. Of course my fav finger is the one with the Haunted house..Bride of Franken really shines through here giving it a great effect. Out of the ghosts, I think the girl ghost is my fav..I like the bow :)

Make sure you take a look at all the other lovely Halloween nail art!

KB Shimmer Elle

Evening all, how was your weekend? I worked on Saturday then tried to get all my weekend activities done today..the list included a walk with a g/f, lunch, cleaned my car inside and out, food shopping, cooking, vacuuming and descaling the coffee machine...sounds fun huh? I have been a bit more sporadic with my posts as I am trying to get my lifestyle a little bit healthier and more time has been devoted to altering my diet, cooking and exercise. I am not a natural born cook so it takes a bit of time! Little bit less time for nails :(

On the nail front I am hanging for the Skyfall collection which should be in the mail as we speak and I am keeping up with the This is Halloween challenge. Today I have for you what I put on for today.. KB Shimmer Elle!

One last pic cos I love it!
KB Shimmer Elle went really lovely over one coat of China Glaze Recycle..almost the perfect "undies" :) My friend that I had lunch with today said she liked it but didn't love my polish, but as I said to her, I wasn't afraid to wear the interesting polishes as well as the pretty ones! LOL. I love it, its the non girly way to wear pink and a very non boring polish which I love.

I am going to do my Ghost nail art challenge tomorrow night..catch you then!

This is Halloween Nail Art Challenge: Water Marbling

Hey all, today I have for you my Halloween Water Marbling attempt..I have water marbled with some success before, but the waters of marbling..she be finicky and unpredictable, just like the ocean. So I do have a halloweeny type water marble for you today..but it isn't the best in the world as I had ALL sorts of trouble with making patterns in the polish..it all just wanted to lift out in one piece whilst making the design..argh.

The colors I chose for the Halloween theme to water marble were, Kleancolor White as a base and China Glaze Liquid Leather, Kleancolor Metallic Purple, Butter London Slapper and China Glaze Japanese Koi and here is the (dubious?) results.

Halloween Water Marbling
I quite like how the ring finger turned out!

The thumb water marble swirls are pretty good too! :)
Not a complete nail art fail..but it was a struggle to get to this stage..I usually have a bit more patience but it wasn't in play today.

This is Halloween Nail Art Challenge- Horror Movies

I love Halloween and the thought of all the spooky things and things that go bump in the night, but alas, Australian's are not really into that sort of thing with Halloween. So when Lacquer Dreams came up with a Halloween challenge on the Aussie Nails Facebook Group, how could I resist. My only problem is that I can't freehand..I can barely draw a stick figure in a normal picture, so my artistic talent is naught in general. To be honest I didn't give artistic-ness a crack this particular mani and I guess that will be minus a few points for lack of effort but I do love what I did. It's Horror Movies with glam-ness!

The October 1 mani is 'Horror Movies" and I chose to do an abstract version of A Nightmare on Elm Street as I have always loved Freddy and the nightmare concept. I like scary movies, I just don't like the music and tend to cheat and fast forward a bit so the music doesn't creep me out! LOL. I thought for ages about what movie and what I could do, but alot of nail art I could create just wasn't "me"...so this is what I went with.

For this mani I used China Glaze Sydney Sand as a base and I stamped using Konad Q1 stamping plate in Zoya Sooki. I then dotted some red glitter with China Glaze Ruby Pumps. To me it kinda looks like the razor claws that Freddy uses ..scratched across each nail. I think the middle nail is my favorite as it has that just swiped off centre look :)
